Grant Alford is a Texas-registered architect, artist and assistant professor at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. He has worked in award-winning architecture firms in New York, New Jersey and Texas, and his independent design work has been recognized nationally. Prior to joining the faculty at Kansas State, Grant taught at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and Rice University in Houston, Texas. His recent creative work explores new media and architectural representation through digitally hand painted and drawn illustrations. Themes of this work range from abstract composition and spatial improvisation to carefully drafted geometries and realist still life elements.
